Abstract

A Selection of Equipment of Use in the Production and Maintenance of Aircraft, Missiles, Space Vehicles and their Components. The Sandvik Coromant ejector drill utilizes a novel technique which the Company claim will revolutionize the production of holes between 20 mm. (0·79 in.) and 61·2 mm. (2·4 in.). By replacing high speed steel drills with cemented carbide it will allow holes to be bored at high penetration rates. In addition, the high quality hole produced will eliminate the reaming operation in many cases. The unique feature of the Sandvik ejector drill is the way in which the coolant is introduced and then removed together with the swarf via the inner tube, without the use of any kind of sealing between workpicce and tool.
