Abstract
This month's “Gimmicks and Gadgets” presents a tool for cleaning encrusted pipe. The pipe cleaner consists of 19 mm pipe of any length with a steel scraper welded to one end. The scraper, made from 19 mm thick steel plate, is approximately 120 mm long and 75 mm high. The scraper is angled on the pipe to facilitate cleaning. The pipe cleaner is inserted into the pipe to be cleaned and the scale deposits are broken up with the scraper. The pipe is then flushed to remove the loose deposits.
