Abstract
The problem of acute and chronic tonsillitis remains relevant from year to year both in medical and general medical terms. Tonsillitis is still one of the most frequent manifestations of upper respiratory tract diseases. The article reflects the issues of epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, and classification of various tonsillitis forms. Modern methods of diagnosis and differentiation of viral and bacterial forms of the disease are considered. Modern recommendations in the tactics of treatment of these patients are taken into account.
