Abstract

This joint discussion was presented at the 1966 AWWA Annual Conference in Bal Harbor, Florida. Discussion topics and presenters are as follows: Samuel S. Baxter, President of the American Water Works Association, presents an introduction to the topic of providing recognition of the adequate time needed for proper planning, design, and construction of water projects; H. Christopher Medbery of the San Francisco Water Department, discusses the importance of master planning in “Preparing for Tomorrow's Needs”; and, Daniel A. Okun of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, assesses the nature of the water industry over the next 35 years in “Tomorrow's Methods to Provide Tomorrow's Service.”
