Abstract
This building, in a city of medieval style, stands out for its white symmetry, which contrasts, like an abstract sculptural design in the midst of classical patterns. The basic ideas underlying the design were to provide a truly visual relation with the exterior, and to show the affinity between architecture and the other plastic arts. The artificial illumination helps to give plasticity to the volume of the building at night, and the reflected daylight, emphasizing the horizontal lines, discovers alternative aspects of this building. In furnishing it, chairs by Mies van der Rohe have been selected, as a small homage to the great master in a building that is worthy of him. This building gives a true sense of relaxation and tranquility, in spite of its very modern design, and furthermore, it blends well with the surrounding architecture, throng a relation of contrast.
