Abstract
As I announced in my “Editor’s Note” column earlier this year (Spring 2001, 47: 2), I was stepping down as editor of the American Entomologist but would continue to serve as interim editor during 2001. At the time, I did not know the name of my replacement, but that has changed. Dr. Tom S. Bellows, University of California-Riverside (UCR), has been appointed as the new editor by the Governing Board, and it is my great pleasure to introduce him to you. Tom is a graduate of Imperial College, University of London, where he received his Ph.D. in insect ecology in 1979. From 1979 to 1981, he was an assistant research professor in the Department of Entomology at New Mexico State University under the direction of John C. Owens. In 1981, he moved to UCR as assistant professor of entomology, attaining the rank of professor in 1992. Tom brings a wide range of experience to his new position as editor of the American Entomologist. He teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, trains graduTom S. Bellows: New Editor
