Recent books include States of Injury: Power and Freedom in Late Modernity (Princeton University Press, 1995);Politics out of History (Princeton University Press, 2001); Left Legalism/Left Critique, coedited with Janet Halley (Duke University Press, 2002); and Edgework: Essays on Knowledge and Politics(Princeton University Press, forthcoming 2005). She is completing a book provisionally titled Regulating Aversion: A Critique of Tolerance in the Age of Identity and Empire.
