Abstract
This paper proposes a dynamic theory based tolerance analysis method for wedge assembly. Wedge is a class of contact features with a small contact angle such as cone and triangle. The impact usually applied in wedge assembly to tighten the structure. The force and times of the impact could affect the assembly dimension and must be considered in tolerance analysis. The wedge contact is formulated as the dynamic model, which the model could be solved to obtain the variation length. Then the variation could be compensated to the tolerance model or dimension chain. The proposed method is used in a case of wedge belt assembly for verification.
