Abstract

A novel interval analysis (IA) method for manufacturing tolerances of spherical conformal antenna arrays (CAAs) based on interval arithmetic is proposed. The uncertain factors in patch antenna manufacturing are described as interval variables. Interval arithmetic is used to establish an interval analysis model of the influence of uncertain factors on the electrical performance of a CAA, and interval analysis is carried out to study the influence of radius intervals on the power pattern intervals of the CAA. Comparisons between the results of the IA method and those of the Monte Carlo method verify the effectiveness of the proposed IA method.
