Abstract

As the COVID-19 pandemic struck and the world began to close itself off in the early months of 2020, the National Geographic Society leapt into action. The COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Journalists was born with an aim to support those on the ground who wanted to showcase the impact of the virus within their communities, and over 300 projects were funded from 70 countries. This resulted in an incredible visual, global chronicle of the pandemic.
