Abstract

Marilyn Thomson and Lena Karlsson highlight some of the advances at a policy level in addressing the rights of girls and women and some of the challenges to achieve these rights and ensure these do not conflict with each other. They give suggestions on good practice in promoting girls' rights and how gender issues are being addressed in programmes in different countries by members of the International Save the Children Alliance.
