Abstract

I got my Appa (father) evaluated at my hometown in Kerala for lower urinary tract obstruction in 2008. I was in the final year of medical school then. I took him to my surgery professor, who did a digital rectal examination on him. His examination revealed a hard nodule on the prostate. However, the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level was within normal limits. Nevertheless, due to high suspicion, a biopsy was taken from the prostatic nodule, and the report showed atypical cells, no malignant cells.
