Abstract

In recent years, Sandstorm occurred frequently in the northwest of China, which caused a serious impact on the industry, agriculture and daily life of residents in many provinces of northwest of China. Especially the insulation of the high voltage transmission line is prominent, which caused many large area flasticity accidents. The impact of sandstorm on transmission lines is mainly reflected in the impact on insulator strings and the line itself during transit and the surface area of insulator strings is polluted after transit due to the significant increase in the content of solid particles such as wind-blown sand and salt minerals, thus affecting the pollution lightning voltage. On the one hand, during the sandstorm transit, due to the influence of strong winds, the insulator string swings and the dielectric constant of the medium between the air gaps changes, which is more prone to wind deflection flashover. In addition, due to the great changes in the working environment of the wire, the corona loss in the transmission process also increases sharply. On the other hand, the flashover voltage of insulator string will be reduced after sandstorm transit because of surface area pollution, and once snow, fog, rain and other weather occur after sandstorm transit, the water content of dust on insulator surface will increase, which will have a serious impact on the insulation level outside the line. This paper comprehensively analyzes the influence of sandstorm weather on various aspects of high-voltage transmission lines, and refers to a large number of existing literature and existing research results, and makes a relatively comprehensive analysis of these influencing factors.
