Abstract
I look at the perception of the background of startup founders. We look at founders who were employees in a successful startup or founders in a failed/successful startup. I find that success is sticky and previous success improves predicted success but it is true for employees and founders alike. Failed female founders are judged more harshly as compared to failed male founders. We provide valuable insight to fresh graduates who face the dilemma to startup or to work in a startup.
