Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between nursing-shift-arrange requirement and the management efficacy of.Methods From Janury 2009 to February 2011,chose Emergency Department,Respiratory Medicine Department,Pediatrics Department,and Neurosurgery Department in our hospital.Set self-designed scheduling table with “Rostering Requirement Registration” as experimental group,The other departments using traditional scheduling table were set as control group.Experimental group was used “Rostering Requirement Registration Table” biweekly.The nurse filled the day off date,days,and reason according to their needs in the “Rostering Requirement Registration Table”.After checking,the head nurse also needed to sign.If there were two nurses or above needed to have day offon the same day,the head nurse would consider the staff need of day off reasons and other aspects to arrange the weekly staff working schedule.Staff could talk with the head nurse about the working schedule,if necessary.If the staff needed to change the work shift temporarily,they must mark on remark column of the “Rostering Requirement Registration Table”.Investigated and analyzed the care quality and demission intention of two groups so that the staff could work and rest happily; Mueller/Mccloskey Satisfaction Scales (MMSS) was used to survey the job satisfaction of nurses.Results Compared the care quality and service quality of the two groups with Mueller/Mccloskey Satisfaction Scales (MMSS).The head nurse would consider the staffs' work,daily life,study,and day off to arrange the work shift.Comparing the job performance,job satisfaction and the demission intention of nurses with the experimental group,there was significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion The head nurse arranges the work shift according to the “Rostering Requirement Registration Table” and consideration of the needs of both departments and the nurses.It not only makes the work arrangement properly,but also creats a interpersonal atmosphere; that is full of care,harmony,equality and respect.These are the key to improve the service quality,job satisfaction,job performance and steady the nursing team.
