Abstract
In today's scenario, it is very difficult to machine advanced materials like super alloys with conventional machining process. This paper proposes a study of the machining characteristics i.e. Material removal rate (MRR) and tool wear rate (TWR) of Inconel-600 materials with and without powder mixing in the dielectric of EDM. Taguchi methodology has been used to collect the data. Results shows that With the use of boron carbide as a powder additive, enhance the response parameters. Current is the most dominant factor on both the responses followed by on time and off time. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) is used to analyze the surface characteristics.
