Abstract
A case is presented of a 58-year-old male whose 3-month history of insidious onset low thoracic back pain coupled with failure to reproduce the symptoms during physical examination, led the practitioner to withhold spinal manipulation until the previous X-rays could be obtained. The cause of the back pain was eventually determined to be lytic metastases from a primary prostatic cancer. This case highlights the importance of always reviewing all patient films, even when accompanied by a radiologist report.
