Abstract

Discussion and conclusions: The hypothesis that gait kinematics change in children with CP while walking over a long distance could not be confirmed. A possible explanation for the lack of changes could be that the exercise was not demanding enough, or that the changes only appeared on muscular and/or cardiorespiratory level. In this pilot study fatigue was not directly measured. Further research should explore the relation between fatigue (evaluated by Visual Analogue Scale) and muscle activity (i.e. co-contractions and EMG frequency) but also between fatigue and cardiorespiratory limitations.
