Abstract

In this paper, the T‐matrix approach is applied to the scattering of plane acoustic waves incident upon finite elastic cylinders and spheroids immersed in water at any angle relative to the bodies axis. Resonances in the range ka 10, where k is the wavenumber of the incidence sound wave and a is the length of the semi‐major axis, are isolated. The three angular regions of interest here are 0°, 45°, and 90°. The scattering amplitude and resonances at these angles will be discussed.
