Abstract

The purpose of this article is to verify if the different academic degrees may interfere with the preliminary course concept (CPC) track obtained by the Production Engineering courses in Brazil. In this documentary study, the data regarding the CPC results of the Production Engineering courses of 2014 were tabulated and analyzed in order to enable a different view of the performance, qualifying the results achieved by the teacher segments: specialists, masters and doctors. As a result, it has been found that the North region is the least attended by the offer of Production Engineering courses in Brazil. With the statistical model of Multiple Linear Regression it was possible to conclude that the grades depend on the academic degree of teachers, in other words, the increase in the number of doctoral teachers significantly influences the cpc performance note.
