Abstract

Titrimetric microdetermination of ruthenium (III) and rhodium(III) with ceric sulfate are described. Oxidation results in the formation of ruthenium(IV) and rhodium(IV). Remaining ceric sulfate solution is titrated against a standard solution of ferrous ammonium sulfate using N -phenyl anthranilic acid as indicator. Interference by cations has been observed in both cases. Range in which ruthenium and rhodium have been estimated vary from 0.3 to 16.6 mg/liter and from 0.19 to 11.7 mg/liter, respectively.
