Abstract

Background: Chest wall integrity and stability are the main factors that ensure the protection of intrathoracic organs and an adequate respiratory function. Usually, chest wall defects depend on trauma or for resection of primary chest wall tumors as a consequence, reconstruction with rigid prosthesis is required to improve chest wall stability and ventilation.
