Abstract
The reaction of Cp 2TiCl 2 with KCN in methanol, that contains some water, gives the dinuclear oxo-bridged cyano complex [Cp 2Ti(CN)] 2O ( 2). The structure of 2, as well as the structure of the known mononuclear complex Cp 2Ti(CN)(OCH 3) ( 1), was determined by X-ray crystallography. 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1/ n with Z = 4 and unit cell dimensions a = 7.879(2), b = 12.235(3), c = 12.078(3) A ̊ , β = 107.58(3)° and 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/ c with Z = 4 and cell dimensions a = 13.354(11), b = 8.112(5), c = 18.017(19) A ̊ , β = 92.52(10)° .
