Abstract

If the candidate for a job is rejected, the individual should not necessarily be discouraged. It may be that the position was particularly competitive or that there were factors beyond the control of the applicant. However, it is important that the candidate carefully considers all aspects of the application and interview process for that position to see if anything could be learned from the process. If the applicant is not successful in being given a job offer for multiple positions, then there must be a careful analysis of the reasons. It could be caused by training, communication issues, a competitive job market-especially in that location, a problematic job record, and so on. If the job seeker is given an offer of employment, it is important to carefully consider all aspects of the offer and consider respectful, professional negotiations on some items.
