Abstract

Summary Three cave-dwelling species of Tineidae reared from bat guano in the Batu Caves, Malaysia, are differentiated. They are determined as Tinea hypochrysa Meyrick (= palaechrysis Meyrick, syn. nov.), Tinea porphyropa Meyrick subsp. batuensis subsp. nov. and Crypsithyris sladeni Bradley. Illustrations of the imagines and tenanted larval cases of the three species and figures of the male and female genitalia of T. hypochrysa and T. porphyropa batuensis are given. Lectotypes are designated for hypochrysa Meyrick and palaechrysis Meyrick.
