Abstract
Since 1969, Gulf Chemical and Metallurgical Company, a Division of Associated Metals and Minerals Corporation, has operated The Texas City Tin Smelter. It has transformed a complex roasting and reverberatory furnace smelting flowsheet1 to a simple flow sheet utilizing a single high speed rotary furnace. The result of this change is a more efficient smelter capable of processing primary and secondary tin bearing feed stock.
