Abstract

Objective To infer influencing factors of cornea lordosis through observing timolol eye drop influence on posterior corneal surface height of high myopia after LASIK.Methods Thirty high myopia (60 eyes) in line with LASIK indications were received standard LASIK,0.5% timolol maleate eye drops (2 times per day) started to use from the first day after operation,the changes of intraocular pressure and posterior corneal surface height on pre-operation,and post-operation 1 day,1 week,2 weeks,and 1 month were observed.Results The cornea of high myopia after LASIK had lordosised on the first day after operation,and the data of posterior corneal surface height increased comparing with pre-operation,the difference was statistically significant.The data of posterior corneal surface height after using timolol eye drops 1 week,2 weeks,1 month continuously increased comparing with pre-operation and 1 day after operation,the differences were all statistically significant.Conclusions Timolol eye drops can reduce intraocular pressure of high myopia after LASIK,but it can't prevent the data of posterior corneal surface height from increasing,cornea still continue lordosising.Therefore,intraocular pressure isn't the influencing factor of posterior corneal surface height of high myopia after LASIK,at least not the main factor.
