Abstract

Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) is a gaseous detector made up of two high resistive parallel electrode plates e.g. glass, bakelite. Upcoming neutrino experiments like Iron Calorimeter (ICAL) in India based Neutrino Observatory (INO) in India, Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) in Fermilab, USA, may use bakelite RPCs for muon detection produced by neutrino interactions. The RPCs which are to be used in INO-ICAL should have a time resolution of \(\sim \)1 ns. In this document, we present the timing measurements of a developed large size RPC (240 cm \(\times \) 120 cm) single gap (0.2 cm) oil free RPC at variuos locations of the detector.
