Abstract

Background: Surgical resection of colorectal liver metastases (CLM) is essential for long-term survival and the optimal timing of surgery might be the key point in successful treatment plan. „Colon-first”, „liver-first” and synchronous strategies are all permitted by international guidelines and recurrent liver metastases are one of the most challenging situations in oncological surgery. A retrospective analysis was performed around CLM patients at National Institute of Oncology, who are underwent curative liver resection and the effect of timing of liver surgery were investigated on short and long-term outcome.
