Abstract

Bux® ( m- d-ethyl phenyl) methylcarbamate mixture (1-4) with m -(1-methylbutyl)phenyl methylcarbamate). Dyfonate® ( O -ethyl S-phenyl elhylphosphonodi-thioale). phorate, fensulfothion, diazinon, and carbofuran were applied as planting (May 12) and post planting treatments (June 17, 27. and July 2) to evaluate effecttiveness of the these application timings on control of western corn rootworm larvae. Diabrotica virgifera LeConte, and 1st-generation European corn borers, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hubner). Equally effective corn root worm control, as measured by adjusted root-damage ratings, was achieved with either the post planting or planting time treatments. The most effective control of 1st-generation European corn borer (artificially infested June 27 and July 3) was achieved with the post planting treatments applied July 2.
