Abstract

In case of temporary segment blockage due to server weather, equipment failure, and other factors, the dispatcher shall arrange for affected trains to stop at nearby stations as soon as possible. After the segment recovers its capacity, the delayed trains will be organized considering the train class and planned timetable. If the train operation plan is seriously disturbed, some trains that have not yet started from the departure station can be canceled in order to keep other trains running on time as much as possible. Aiming at the scenarios of temporary segment blockage, this paper adopts the hybrid strategy of retiming, reordering, limiting the number of trains being overtaken, and canceling trains to adjust the train operation. Then, a mixed integer programming model considering the constraints of trains operating in the intervals and stations is established. In order to minimize the weighted sum of delay time and train cancellation penalty, a genetic simulated annealing algorithm is designed to solve the problem. The proposed hybrid strategy for the temporary segment blockage scenario can quickly restore the train sequence and ensure the fairness of operation between trains of different classes.
