Abstract

Advantages and limitations of CO laser time-resolved infrared absorption spectroscopy in the study of coordinatively unsaturated metal carbonyl fragments in the gas phase are discussed. A review of gas phase M(CO) x structures investigated to date is presented, including a comparison with low temperature matrix results.
