Abstract

In this paper, a novel time-hopping (TH) sequences construction algorithm is presented for quasi-synchronous time-hopping spread spectrum ultra wideband (THSS-UWB). The algorithm on the basis of the known frequency-hopping (FH) sequences is a trade-off between TH correlation properties and the family size of TH sequences. By such an algorithm, a large number of TH sequences with few-hit zone (FHZ) can be constructed. These FHZ TH sequences have good TH correlation properties. THSS-UWB systems employing such FHZ TH sequences will be with less multi-user interference (MUI) if the maximum delay is shorter than the length of the FHZ.
