Abstract

Transient analysis for the structures including both dielectric and conducting media requires the accurate solution of time-domain volume-surface integral equations (TDVSIE) in integral equation approach. The problem is traditionally solved by combing the method of moments (MoM) in spatial domain and a march-on-in-time (MOT) scheme in temporal domain. In this paper, we propose a different scheme to solve the problem and it uses a Nystrom method to discretize the spatial domain and a Galerkin's method with Laguerre basis and testing functions to discretize the temporal domain. The merits include the simplicity of Nystrom method in space domain and unconditional stability of Galerkin's method in time domain. A typical numerical example is presented to demonstrate the approach and good results have been obtained.
