Abstract

This paper presents a time domain hybrid method consisting of transmission line (TL) equations, finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method, and a S-parameter cascade technique to be used for the coupling analysis of unequal length multi-conductor transmission lines (MTLs) excited by plane wave efficiently. In this method, the FDTD-TL method is used to compute the transient responses on each equal length MTLs. The signal transmission between the equal length MTLs are realied by the S-parameters of the nodes. Numerous examinations have been used to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of this method by compared with the traditional FDTD method.
