Abstract

A 25-year-old Mexican man was admitted to the hospital after 5 days of non-productive cough, fever, chills, night sweats, and right-sided epigastric pain associated with coughing. He denied weight loss, dyspnea, pleuritic chest pain, sputum production, hemoptysis, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, arthralgias, or rashes. He had not traveled recently, had no sick contacts, and did not take medication or use illicit drugs. He had immigrated to the United States from Mexico 2 years earlier and moved to Baltimore 3 months prior to admission.
