Abstract
Rate constants for non-resonant non-radiative electronic energy transfer between N 2 molecules in different vibrational levels of the A 3Σ + u state are studied in time-resolved experiments and with a quantitative model without free parameters. The energy transfer leads to a relaxation by two vibrational quanta in the A 3Σ + u state.
