Abstract

Ternary 50Li2O–50B2O3–xCu2O glass system whose glassy structure was verified by X-ray diffraction (XRD) has been synthesized. The time resolved current spectrum (TRCS), temperature dependence of DC conductivity (TDC) and frequency and temperature dependence of AC conductivity (FTDAC) of this glass system were investigated in detail. TRCS showed repetitive curves of typical charge and discharge processes for all glasses and they were well satisfied with TRCS equation. It was found, from turning time of polarization (TTP) equation results, that dipole lengths increased linearly with increases of x and configuration energy (CE) values also increased linearly with increases of applied potentials and reversely decreased with increases of x. As different results showed from mixed alkali effect (MAE), DC and AC conductivity increased with the increase of x. Complex impedance spectrum (CIS) showed conductions of mixed ionic migration and electron hopping and complex modulus spectrum (CMS) showed non-Debye type relaxations. Activation energies obtained by TDC were almost consistent with those obtained by CMS for glasses with the same x in high temperature region.
