Abstract

The laser-flash-induced transient optical absorption of poly(N-vinylcarbazole) thin films has been investigated. The rise time of the ion pair formation was estimated to be about 40 ns, their lifetime is longer than 10 μs. The ion pair stability is probably due to self-trapping process and dimer radical cation formation.
