Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of time limits of expectant treatments on pregnant woman with premature oligohydramnio and on neonatal prognosis. Methods 78 pregnant woman with with premature oligohydramnio at gestation weeks of less than 33 weeks received expectant treatments. The relationship between time of expectant treatments and neonatal prognosis was observed. Results With expectant treatment for 5 days or more, the neonatal weight increased significantly with 141g in average ( P< 0.05 ) and the rate of NICU stay markedly decreased; while with treatment for less than 5 days, the neonatal weight did not change obviously and the rate of NICU stay elevated, with a statistically significant difference ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Expectant treatments should be applied to pregnant women with premature oligohydramnio. The treatment time has some relation with neonatal prognosis. The longer the time, the better the neonatal prognosis.
