Abstract
We present a new theoretical method in the investigation of the exciton self-trapping dynamics in one-dimensional system based upon a time-dependent variational method. The time-resolved emission spectrum is calculated by this method. The effect of the exciton transfer allows a free exciton state to survive for some time just after photoexcitation, which is clearly reflected in the short-time behavior of the time-resolved emission spectrum.
