The equations are solved for a semi-infinite atmosphere by the method of Laplace transforms. The reflected radiation initially decays exponentially with time, with a time constant proportional to 1/ pc. The results provide an accurate solution for a specific time-dependent transfer problem that may be used to test other approximate treatments.
