Abstract
Incubation of glycogen synthetase preparations brings about marked increases in both glucose-6-P dependent and independent activities. The increase is preceded by a lag period whose duration is temperature-dependent. The “activation” is not reversible upon recooling. Major differences exist in kinetic properties of the “nonactivated” And “activated” forms in regard to the glycogen saturation curve and the ATP inhibitability.
