Abstract

Time-dependent Hartree-Fock calculations are carried out for the systems $^{16}\mathrm{O}$ + $^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$ and $^{28}\mathrm{Si}$ + $^{28}\mathrm{Si}$. Cross sections for the formation of $^{56}\mathrm{Ni}$ are qualitatively similar in both cases, although there exist significant quantitative differences which reflect the importance of the entrance channel. Both systems exhibit an angular momentum window for fusion. The results of the calculations are compared with currently available experimental data.NUCLEAR REACTIONS $^{16}\mathrm{O}$($^{40}\mathrm{Ca}$, $x$) and $^{28}\mathrm{Si}$($^{28}\mathrm{Si}$, $x$) in time-dependent Hartree-Fock approximation.
