Abstract

The growth of La Mer sulfur sols has been studied by light scattering analysis using absolute intensity measurements at 18 angles of observation. Analysis by high speed computer has used the Mie formulas and distribution functions skewed both toward larger particle sizes (logarithmic) and smaller particle sizes (Khrgian-Mazin). The results indicate a small variation in particle concentration with different sols and a smaller variation in concentration with time for a given sol.
