Abstract

Abstract Time-delayed two-color photolysis of 1,8-bis(bromomethyl)naphthalene and l,8-bis(chloromethyl)naphthalene was conducted by successive irradiation of XeCl (308 nm) and XeF (351 nm) excimer lasers. Increase in the yield of the two-photon product, acenaphthene, strongly depended on the delay time of the two lasers and showed two maxima at the delay times of 0–30 ns and 0.2–0.5 μs.
