Abstract

The paper deals with implementation of non-standard control algorithm. Presented simulation results shows how PFC algorithm deals with objects with time delay. There were made comparison simulations with standard PI controller. The paper illustrates how to modify standard PFC algorithm for delayed processes. Both controllers are tested on the model of electric kettle. Main task in this process is to stabilise output temperature of the heated water, where disturbances are flow rate and input temperature. Manipulated variable is electric power of heating coils inside the kettle. Although, the PID controller is the most popular algorithm, not all industrial processes could be controlled by PID controllers. For multivariable, non-linear and random processes some knowledge of the process behaviour is necessary to design good controller.
