Abstract

As a multiple electrodes sound source, combined underwater plasma sound source (CUPSS) can enhance the directivity of the sound pulse and the energy intensity by having the sound source array or time controlled focus or such methods. This paper designs the system of time control focus and target localization based on combined underwater plasma sound source. The simulation of combined underwater plasma sound source's focus gain and related characteristics is conducted. The location for the remote target can be realized through echo detection, when the high pressured pulse waves can not damage or disturb it. An active localization model is established, in which the pulse signal is used as the active signal. Finally, the signals received by the 11-element broadside array and the broadside three sub-arrays are processed. The performance of the active locating by plasma sound source is analysed.
