Abstract
We have demonstrated the use of the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree–Fock (MCTDHF) method to compute total ionization probabilities of a 3-dimensional (3D) model helium atom interacting with a strong laser field. The time dependence and the intensity dependence of the total ionization probabilities of helium are investigated by using the MCTDHF method. The MCTDHF results are consistent with the previous theoretical expectations by directly solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation.
