Abstract

The thermally activated motion of a charge carrier in one-dimensional disordered systems under the influence of an electric DC or AC field was studied using Monte Carlo computer simulations. Systems with random energy barriers and systems with random energy wells were investigated. In a system with barriers the mobility was found to be frequency-dependent and constant in time. In a system with wells the mobility was found to be frequency-independent and decaying in time.
